Finally Some Relief!! Gel Cooling Mat

OK, Here is the thing.. I am going through early menopause after a hysterectomy. It can be miserable with the hot flashes and migraines. Almost anything gives me a migraine nowadays. I spend hours in the dark, wincing at the slightest noise. I wake up at night soaking wet from a hot flash and can not fall back asleep. Menopause is a never ending nightmare for me lately. Then a few weeks ago, I discovered this gel mat. Although it is marketed for toddlers, I realized it could be perfect for me. Anything to help with my symptoms is worth a try at this point. The mat arrived folded in a sturdy box with a pillow cover. The directions state to keep it in the fridge and take out as needed, which is ideal for my needs. Yesterday afternoon when I felt a migraine coming on I was able to take the gel pad out of the fridge and lay down with it over my eyes. Wow, I was really impressed. The cooling effect, on top of the darkening (by covering my eyes) was amazing. I felt so relaxed and it definitely eased the intensity of my head ache. The mat is the perfect size. It is not too big to use over my face during a migraine. Yet it is also big enough to put on my pillow to cool myself during sleep. I love how calming it feels when I lay my head on the cool gel at night. The only downside is that the pillow cover is not as soft as I prefer. That was not a big deal, I just pulled out an old pillowcase from my closet and was good to go. I actually like that I can put the mat in the fridge and keep my pillowcase folded up until the next use. That way the case does not pick up any refrigerator odors. Another unfortunate symptom of menopause, super smell sensitivity. I am really happy that I got to try this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. It has helped immensely in my suffering and I recommend this to anyone going through menopause.
